Former Fiorentina boss Vincenzo
Italiano on Wednesday became the new coach of Bologna, a team
that will be rubbing shoulders with European soccer royalty in
the Champions League next season.
Bologna said Italiano had signed a two-year contract, until June
30 2026.
The 46-year-old had been at Fiorentina for three years and led
the Viola to the finals of the Conference League in the season
that has just ended and the previous term and the Italian Cup in
the 2022-23 campaign - losing all three.
He ireplaces Thiago Motta, who did not renew his contract after
leading Bologna to a fifth-placed finish in Serie A and
qualification for the Champions League.
Motta, 41, has been strongly linked to Juventus after the Turin
giants sacked Massimiliano Allegri.
