The board of RCS Media Group has
decided to make Luciano Fontana editor-in-chief of Corriere
della Sera newspaper, financial sources said Thursday.
Fontana, 56, replaces two-time editor-in-chief Ferruccio de
Bortoli, who leaves the Milan-based daily at the end of April.
He is currently the co-editor-in-chief at the paper.
Born in the southern Lazio city of Frosinone and with a
degree in philosophy of language, Fontana worked for 11 years at
L'Unità leftwing newspaper, covering Italian politics and
administrative and legal news, before joining Corriere della
Sera in 1997.
He was appointed co-editor-in-chief following the return to
the helm of Feruccio De Bortoli in 2009.
