The spread between Italy's 10-year BTP
bond and the German Bund leapt up to 130 basis points in early
trading on Monday, the highest level since November.
The yield on the BTP rose by three basis points to 3.79% while
that on the Bund dropped by eight to 2.49% as investors put
money into German State paper amid the financial turmoil sparked
by US President Donald Trump's tariffs.
The bond spread closed at 119.3 basis points on Friday.
