Hungarian-Italian writer, director
and Holocaust survivor Edith Bruck said on Pope Francis's death
Monday that he had been friendly and sweet to her and she would
miss him greatly.
My memory of Pope Francis is very sweet. I am sorry he is no
longer with us, I was waiting for his phone call on May 3 for my
birthday. I will miss his phone calls, I liked his childish
side, perhaps ours was a meeting between two children. He was
very affectionate, friendly and simple"., the 93-year-old Bruck
commented on the Pope's passing to ANSA.
"We spoke before he was admitted to hospital. He told me we'll
see each other soon but first I have to do something", she added
