A woman was found dead with stab
wounds in her home in the province of Florence town of Rufina
early on Saturday in what appears to have been the latest in an
alarming spate of femicides in Italy.
Investigators suspect that the 34-year-old woman was murdered by
her 37-year-old husband, who is in Florence's Careggi hospital
in a critical condition after he threw himself from the
second-floor of the apartment building in an apparent attempt at
suicide following the murder.
The dead woman leaves behind a two-year-old child.
