Transparency International said
Tuesday that Italy ranked 52nd out of 180 countries in the world
for the level of perceived corruption in 2024 and 19th out of
the European Union's 27 member states.
The report said Italy's perceived corruption score dropped two
points with respect to 2023 to 54, the first fall since 2012.
A country's score is the perceived level of public sector
corruption on a scale of 0-100, where 0 means highly corrupt and
100 means very clean.
Denmark came first in the index with a score of 90.
