Italy will see mild temperatures and
scattered showers over the next two days while snow will fall in
northern and some central parts on St Valentine's Day,
forecaster Lorenzo Tedici said Wednesday.
"In the next few hours," said Tedici on IlMeteo.it, "unseasonal
storms are expected along the Ligurian and Tyrrhenian coasts, in
Tuscany and locally towards the rest of the central regions.
"An autumnal picture with late-summer phenomena. "Also on
Thursday the central regions, especially the Tyrrhenian, will
see some scattered rain".
For Valentine's Day, a cyclone full of cold air will bring snow
in the evening in Emilia and Veneto up to the plains.
Especially during the night between Friday and Saturday, flakes
are expected from Bologna to Piacenza and are also likely
between Padua and Rovigo.
On Saturday, temperatures will drop by 8-10 degrees in both
minimum and maximum values. Snow should fall widely, still in
the plains, until lunchtime. In the afternoon, it will snow on
the hills between Emilia Romagna and the central regions, while
on Sunday the weather will improve almost everywhere except for
recent phenomena in the South and on the Central Adriatic, snow
on the central-southern Apennines above 700-900 meters.
