Undersecretary for Foreign Affairs Giorgio Silli made a mission to Miami where he held a series of talks with the Italian business, scientific, and cultural community in Florida.
Silli - according to a note - met with some of the leading Italian companies in Florida at the consulate general. "The Southeastern United States, and in particular Miami and Florida, have experienced robust economic and financial growth in recent years, with total interchange between Florida and Italy amounting to $4.8 billion in 2023," the undersecretary commented. "This state is home to more than four hundred Italian companies, which employ thousands of people: today I have therefore renewed the government's constant attention to this important reality, which demonstrates the competitiveness of the Italian industrial system in the American market as well".
Afterwards, Silli spoke with numerous representatives of the world of culture, science and Italian business in Florida and the South-East of the United States, in the setting of the new Italian Institute of Culture. 'You are a constantly growing community,' said Silli, 'more and more of our fellow countrymen are making a name for themselves, not only in business, but also in the most diverse spheres of American society as scholars, scientists, artists. You honour the country, your success is Italy's success'.
Accompanied by Italy's Consul General Michele Mistò and Fincantieri Infrastructure executives, the undersecretary finally visited the construction site of MSC's new passenger terminal - one of the largest in the world - under construction at the Port of Miami.
