The Italian Embassy in Riyadh opened today in the presence of the Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Giorgio Silli and Ambassador Carlo Baldocci the exhibition 'CONNECT-IT. Visioni per unire il mondo' (CONNECT-IT. Visions to unite the world), an initiative produced and promoted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in cooperation with the National Association of Building Constructors and sector companies to tell the international public about Italian excellence in the field of construction engineering.
The integrated promotion project is part of the growth diplomacy action in support of Italian companies and know-how.
Undersecretary Giorgio Silli emphasised: 'The projects presented in CONNECT-IT exemplify a unique mix of innovation, functionality and aesthetics, all harmoniously integrated with the landscapes and cultural contexts in which they are located. This seamless synthesis captures the essence of Italian craftsmanship, an art that our companies uphold as authentic ambassadors of Italy to the world'.
During his speech, Ambassador Carlo Baldocci pointed out: 'We are very happy to host this exhibition in Riyadh because it demonstrates Italian savoir-faire in a priority sector of cooperation between Italy and Saudi Arabia such as construction and infrastructure. Enhancing the commitment of Italian companies is at the heart of growth diplomacy, the strategy that Deputy Prime Minister Tajani has launched to encourage exports and the internationalisation of companies. Also thanks to CONNECT-IT we give the sign of our commitment to Vision 2030'.
Realised with the scientific curatorship of Prof. Tullia Iori and the artistic direction of Ludovico Pratesi and Marco Bassan of the Spazio Taverna Association, the exhibition presents a multimedia path that takes the visitor on a journey into the heart of the great works realised by Italian industry, including unpublished shots by photographer Luca Campigotto, original literary texts by Emanuele Trevi and artistic video projections by Gabriele Gianni and Michelangelo Lupone.
After the exhibition in Saudi Arabia, the exhibition will continue its international tour with the support of the diplomatic-consular network and the Italian Cultural Institutes.
