A tour of cultural relations between Italy and Latvia took place during a meeting between the Latvian Minister of Culture, Agnese Lāce, and the Italian Ambassador to Riga, Alessandro Monti.
In the conversation, the Minister expressed gratitude for the Embassy's role in promoting cooperation between Latvian and Italian cultural and creative institutions.
The conversation continued with an overview of the prospects for future cooperation, emphasising in particular Latvia's participation in the 19th International Architecture Exhibition at the Venice Biennale, and then dwelt on the topic of protecting cultural heritage in crisis situations.
Culture is one of the main areas of cooperation between Italy and Latvia. In the three-year period 2022-2024, the Italian Embassy in Riga has implemented more than 120 cultural diplomacy and integrated initiatives, and in 2025 Riga will host two major Italian exhibitions, realised in cooperation with the Uffizi Galleries in Florence and Palazzo Madama in Turin.
