About 600 Catholic mayors, municipal
and regional administrators are expected in Rome on 14 and 15
February, to give life to the Constituent Network of Catholic
Local Administrators, born informally in July in Trieste at the
Social Weeks of Italian Catholics, and until now called the
"Trieste network", Francesco Russo, vice president of the
Regional Council of Friuli, and promoter of the Network, told
ANSA Thursday.
The meeting will be attended by Monsignor Luigi Renna, president
of the Italian Bishops Conference (CEI) Commission for Social
Problems, as well as Inland Revenue Agency chief Ernesto Maria
Ruffini, and other major Catholic associations.
Ruffini has been touted as a possible 'aggregator' of the
currently divided centre-left opposition, or just of its
Catholic components
