Napoli on Sunday missed the chance to
extend their leadership at the helm of the Serie A standings
after being held to a 1-1 draw in an away match against AS Roma.
The draw pushed Napoli on to 54 points, three ahead of Inter
Milan, while Roma remain ninth with 31 points.
Napoli on Sunday relied on defender Leonardo Spinazzola's goal
to take the lead in the 29th minute and for most of the match at
Stadio Olimpico until Spanish defender Angelino's late equalizer
in the 92nd minute saved one point for Roma.
The visitors had been given further motivation by second-placed
Inter Milan's 1-1 draw with AC Milan earlier on Sunday.
Inter saved a 1-1 derby draw against Milan with Stefan de Vrij
scoring an added-time equaliser at the San Siro stadium,
skipping the opportunity to provisionally take the helm of the
Serie A standings.
Inter stay second on 51 points while Milan are eighth on 35
points.
