Gaza is a failed entity and new idea are needed to revive it, Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar told a press conference with Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani apparently referring to US President Donald Trump's plan to relocate Gazans and create a new Middle Eastern Riviera out of the rubble left by Tel Aviv's relentless retaliation after the horrific Hamas attacks of October 7, 2023.
"Israel and Italy are close allies of the US and our governments are close to Trump and his administration," said Sa'ar.
"Today I believe it is important to listen carefully to the new ideas that have been proposed and think outside the box.
"Gaza is a failed experiment and it has certainly failed under the Hamas regime. Gaza in its current state has no future. We must try to find a different solution".
"We must adopt a new approach. We have the opportunity to try to build a better future for ourselves and the Middle East".
Only Israel, Hungary and UK Reform leader Nigel Farage, outside of the US Republicans, have so far backed Trump's plan which has spurred widespread condemnation as spelling ethnic cleansing and being illegal.
